The Ideas for Russia Conference is an annual event that showcases the key findings from the Ideas for Russia projects. The conference has been held annually since 2024, with presentations on various topics in Russian Studies, mainly focusing on wartime transformations of Russian politics, economy, and society.
Primarily, the IFR Conference programs feature presentations by fellows of the Ideas for Russia initiative, as well as mentors and mentees of the Ideas for Russia Labs. These projects are led by Russian academics in exile and other reputable scholars specializing in Russian studies.
Past participants include researchers from institutions such as AMO, CEU, Charles University, EHESS, INALCO, IOS Regensburg, LSE, NUPI, Paris School of Economics, PS Lab, Sciences Po, Social Foresight Group, UCL, and ZOiS, as well as universities like Bologna, Helsinki, Mainz, and Uppsala.
Traditionally, the conference is held at Charles University in Prague. The next Ideas for Russia Conference is scheduled for November 2026.
