Russian prosecutors are seeking a prison sentence of 12 years and one month for Lev Shlosberg on charges of spreading “false information” about the military and “discrediting” the armed forces.
In 2016, as the inaugural recipient of the Boris Nemtsov Prize for Courage, Shlosberg said:
“A state built on repression, lies, and violence fears nothing more than the voice of a free person.”
Ten years later, those words could not be more relevant.
Free Lev Shlosberg!
