Mediazona is a Russian publication that, since its inception, has been writing about the most resonant political cases, torture in prisons and other forms of gross violation of human rights. A year ago, Mediazona and the Scanner Project released a joint investigation into the preparations for the assassination of Boris Nemtsov.
Since the beginning of the military invasion of the Russian army in Ukraine, Mediazona has been chronicling events online. For covering the war, Mediazona was blocked on the territory of the Russian Federation. The publication lost all donations, which were the main source of funding for current activities.
