The ALDE Group in the EP is organising a number of events to commemorate Boris Nemtsov and also to look into the future and discuss prospects for a democratic Russia and for stronger relationships not only between the EU and Russia but also between societies and artists.
The conference will take place in Brussels on Tuesday 01 March 2016 from 14:30 to 18:00.
Representatives of the Russian democratic opposition and civil society including opposition leader Mikhail Kasyanov, the daughter of Boris Nemtsov, Zhanna and anti-corruption activist Alexey Navalny will discuss their vision for Russia with Guy Verhofstadt, President of the ALDE Group, Anne Brasseur, former President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and numerous other political leaders.
At the beginning of the conference Boris Nemtsov will be awarded the International Jean Rey Prize in memoriam.
This event will be followed by a Rock concert in BOZAR (salle Horta), 23, rue Ravenstein, Brussels at 20:30.
