President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed on March 3, 2015 a decree awarding Boris Nemtsov the Order of Liberty. It is the highest award for non-citizens of Ukraine. It is given for achievements in the approval of Ukrainian independence.
Poroshenko explained that Ukrainians believe Boris Nemtsov as a Russian patriot and a true friend of Ukraine. “For our freedom and yours” – this historical slogan became Boris Nemtsov’s life motto. So I decided to award him the Order of Liberty. We will always remember him”- wrote the president of Ukraine on his Facebook page.
April, 29 the daughter of Boris Nemtsov Zhanna received this award at the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow.
