The Nemtsov Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Germany. The top priority for the Foundation is to preserve and nourish human capital. In line with our Articles of Association, we implement projects that can effectively respond to the erosion of free speech and academic freedom in Russia. Our main project areas include:
– Access to education
– Freedom of information
– Professional development
– Russian-EU dialogue
– Promotion of democratic values and Boris Nemtsov’s legacy
The Foundation is building an international community of people who stand up for freedom of speech and human rights. Our network includes activists, academics, researchers, journalists, and lawyers worldwide.
The Foundation supports Russian studies focusing on both culture and politics. As part of the effort, in the fall of 2023, the Nemtsov Foundation will launch an accredited two-year Russian-language Master’s program at the Faculty of Arts (Charles University).
