The Fedor Stepun Scientist Support Program is the joint initiative of the Zimin Foundation, the Nemtsov Foundation, and the Ruhr University in Bochum (Germany) to support scientists at risk from Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus. It was launched at the end of March 2022, a month after the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The main objectives of the program are to train scientists to write and apply for research grants and help integrate into the European academic environment. The monthly scholarship is 2000 euros for 4 months.
Ph.D. and postdoctoral researchers are eligible to apply.
The number of scholarships is limited to eight.
Successful applicants will be invited to the Ruhr University in Bochum. Fellows will receive mentoring support and access to international databases and the university library. The Ruhr University will also provide visa support.
