Boris Nemtsov Academic Centre for the Study of Russia opens on February, 8

We are happy to announce that the Boris Nemtsov Academic Center for the Study of Russia opens at the Faculty of Arts (Charles University). The newly established institution is supported by Russian and Czech humanities scholars and the Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom (Bonn, Germany).

The official ceremony starts at 11 am. on the 8th of February 2018. Zhanna Nemtsova of Boris Nemtsov Foundation and Michal Pullmann, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University are to speak at the event.
Prof. Sergey Medvedev (Higher School of Economics, Moscow) delivers a public lecture “Russian matrix: is there a way out?” .
The Center is created as a multi-task think-tank and a discussion platform. We bring together Russian and foreign scholars, organize summer schools and conferences and engage undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Alexander Morozov and Marek Příhoda, co-directors of the Center, are to speak about its goals and development strategy.
In the afternoon the Center hosts a panel discussion “Youth’s vision of the future for the Central and Eastern Europe”. The discussion moderated by Zhanna Nemtsova feature young scholars and students who share their ideas on the subject.
